A decade of Management Shaun Pates XI

Phil Rippon
1997-2003 63(3)-1
A superb shot stopper with a particularly good record in saving penalties. Rippon was a major part of the clubs 'nearly' season in 2000/01.
Danny Smith Gary Wright Ian Wilkinson Paul Guy
2001-02 35(5)-1 2000-03 47(6)-27 1997-2001 35(15)-13 1996-2001 109(17)-5
Happy at full back or centre half, Smith was a cultured and consistent performer that enjoyed a successful time at the club. Probably Pates's best ever signing. Quick, Strong and Aerially phenomenal, scored an incredible amount of goals for a centre half before leaving for Gedling MW. At times brilliant but all too often unpredictable, enjoyed a stint at the club during the back end of his career where he played his final game in the cup final. If he had the confidence on the pitch to go with what he had off it, Guy would have been Fantastic, Great energy loved to get forward with a sweet left foot.
Kwabana Osayande Richard Brodsky Kevin Camplin Gary Williamson
1998-2000 34(10)-10 1999-2004 45(3)-15 1995-2001 51(6)-26 2000-03 67(1)-44
Brought samba style soccer to the Rec and earned himself Managers Player of the year in his first season at the club. Scored a great overhead kick in only his second game for Albion. Fantastic Footballer who's petite frame doesn't tell the whole story, can jump with the biggest, out-strength the strongest, and out skill the best. Club Legend. Creative and Attacking Midfielder with an eye for a top draw goal, gave Manager Pates great service during his earlier years in charge. Bullet like left foot, who on top of his game can make a fool out of anyone. Arguably the best player in his three years at the club, now running down the left wing for Gedling Town.
John Burnett Lee Roberts
1996-2000 59(1)-39 1996-98 53(2)-49
Gentle giant, Burnett's scoring record for the club was superb, target man who nobody liked marking, top scored for Albion with 23 goals in his final season. Hard working front man with a phenomenal scoring record for the club. Two great seasons for the side before leaving for a rival team in 1998.
